As a trusted provider to independent food testing labs around the world, Neogen® has built a solid reputation by providing a broad range of products and services to add value to our customers through higher quality results, and greater throughput and productivity — giving them a competitive advantage.
Neogen maintains high visibility with entities and educational institutions to support research efforts, provide important insight to regulatory compliance, and deliver tools and solutions to improve food safety and quality.
Neogen’s products include high quality Acumedia® dehydrated culture media, both in-stock and custom blends including new convenience media, Acumedia EZ Prep. EZ Prep pouches are pre-weighed, sterilized and ready to use; allowing for saved time, energy and labor. Our offerings also include diagnostic test kits for allergens, pathogens, mycotoxins and spoilage organisms.
We also offer NeoSeek™ genomic testing services for STECs, Salmonella serovars, and foodborne pathogens. NeoSeek’s testing services can extend the capabilities of your lab without investing in costly instrumentation.
Dedicated to enhancing food security through innovative food and animal safety solutions and services for more than 30 years, Neogen also offers industry-leading customer service, along with easy online ordering and product support from professionals who understand your business and your need for quality food safety products at competitive prices.
Neogen has developed industry leading products such as Veratox®, Alert®, BioKits, and Reveal® to solidify your allergen testing program. Components of an allergen control program include a validation as well as routine verification, hence the development of Neogen’s allergen handbook and validation and verification guide. These documents are available to those in the industry and covers best practices such as when to test for allergens, how to test, and recommendations for testing frequency. For example, Neogen’s Gliadin and Peanut Proficiency Program is a simple method to validate testing accuracy that gives personnel and management confidence in their testing results. It can also find where additional training, or changes in testing environment or equipment are needed.
Neogen offers AccuPoint® Advanced, the industry leading Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) sanitation verification system that offers advanced-chemistry samplers, Data Manager Software and RFID detection. The system is the first to be approved by the AOAC Research Institute as part of their Performance Tested MethodsSM (PTM) program and can be utilized to test the cleanliness of a facility and production equipment and produces easy-to-interpret results. This allows manufactures to validate their cleaning methods and conduct and/or monitor proper site cleaning plans according to HACCP guidelines.
Neogen’s Acumedia brand has been recognized since 1978 as a premier manufacturer of high-quality dehydrated culture media for industrial, pharmaceutical, biotech, food safety and life science applications. Acumedia EZ Prep provides ready to use pathogen enrichment solutions by eliminating unnecessary autoclaving and weighing steps. Acumedia produces more than 240 catalog formulations and well over 200 custom formulations to meet specific customer requirements.
NeoSeek is a breakthrough pathogen detection and identification service that provides genomic-based serotype identification within 72 hours from suspected Salmonella-positive isolates and DNA-specific test results for seven pathogenic STECs. Enrichment broths and cultures for STEC confirmation can be utilized to eliminate the need for single colony isolation and deliver results more rapidly.
Neogen offers a wide range of rapid pathogen detection systems for Salmonella, Listeria and E. coli, including traditional methods like our Reveal line of tests, as well as high throughput testing using systems such as GeneQuence®, ANSR®, Soleris® and BioLumix®. Neogen’s line of Acumedia can also fit into your SOP’s with high quality, competitively priced media formulations available in custom blends, in bulk, or standard quantities.
Neogen offers the industry’s most complete line of GIPSA-approved mycotoxin tests. Get quantitative results for up to 19 samples at a time against controls with Neogen’s Veratox platform. In addition, the new line of Reveal Q+ tests can deliver precise results after only minutes. Following a simple extraction the user combines the extract with a diluent, inserts a Reveal Q+ test strip, then reads the strip in Neogen’s AccuScan® Gold reader to receive precise results. Additionally, Neogen's mycotoxin proficiency testing programs offer a straightforward method for continually monitoring and validating your testing procedures.
Because of its ease of use and clarity of result, many companies prefer to utilize our self-contained protein detection tests for their sanitation monitoring programs. AccuClean® Advanced is intended to be used as a simple method to determine the cleanliness of food contact surfaces and equipment. AccuClean Advanced is housed in a fully self-contained cartridge that once activated, changes color to indicate the relative level of protein detected on a sampled surface.
After 10 seconds, the solution is compared to a color comparison chart for interpretation. If no protein is detected, the solution in the bottom of the cup will remain copper-colored to indicate the surface is clean. A color change to gray indicates low level protein has been detected, while a change to green/blue or blue indicates a higher level of protein detected.
Adulterants, growth promoters and other drug residues often create issues with exportation, market access, and label claims. Neogen helps with verifying and validating products to show auditors, customers, and potential buyers that adulterants, growth promoters or other types of residues are absent in products.
Neogen offers seafood and shellfish analysis test kits to detect various marine biotoxins. These toxins include amnesic shellfish poisoning (ASP), diarrhetic shellfish poisoning (DSP), paralytic shellfish poisoning (PSP), histamine, and sulfites. Our Alert screening kit and quantitative Veratox test kits fit into the laboratory setting and have the capability of running up to 90 tests per kit to detect drug residue such as chloramphenicol and more. Each test type compares samples against known levels of toxin, and provide results in minutes. Each requires only a minimal amount of training and equipment. All are compatible with the European Union Commission and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) permitted levels.
